THE ELECTROCOIN SPECTRUM

HEIGHT: 1860mm (73.25")
WIDTH: 647mm (25.5")

What came after the Xenon was this, the Spectrum. They are mainly found with 25" screens but were also available with 20". There are different variations of sideart and whereas some are only printed in red, others which are known as Deluxe have three colour print, red, blue and pink. As with all other Electrocoin cabinets, the control panel was fully interchangeable, and again there are also variations on control panel artwork. Some control panels whilst retaining the stripey pattern, have been spotted in yellow and also in lighter shades of blue. You will notice the promotional photo to the right shows a control panel overlay of the same design that was fitted to Xenon cabinets.

  • Usually a 25" monitor but can also be 20"

  • Front opening for PCB access (lower door)

  • Standard plastic Electrocoin PCB holder

  • Speakers and coin slot at waist height

  • Lockable marquee bezel

  • Tool-less PCB changeover

  • Coin mechanism by MARS or Coin Controls,S10's were only optional

  • Monitor rotation possible by removing bolts

Here is a picture of the two Spectrum cabinets I own. They are both in excellent condition. The cabinet shown on the right has a nice example of the Street Fighter control panel overlay, and both machines also have the 'Deluxe' artwork variation.

Here is another picture of the two machines, this time taken at the UK Pinball Show which was held at Aston Villa in July 2006. This was a two day event that enabled members of the public to play on the machines instead of them just being sat in the games room.

Here is a picture of a row of Spectrum cabinets that were found still in service. This was in 2005. I have it from a good source they are still there.
